I was very intrigued by how John McWhorter discusses texting in this, TED-Talk Texting. Found the connections between his Talk and our course content interesting!
I watched this video, and I have to agree! His section on "lol" is so true, people say it after everything, I even realized how often I do it! I also found it interesting that he said texting is a whole new language, which now that I have thought about it, it really is. I do not even understand half of what my younger brother and his friends are saying in text as does my mother not understand any of the texting I do, until I explained it.
