Classes

Something that I am loving about this semester is that some of my classes are connected to each other. I am also enrolled in Intro to Communication Disorders (CDS 275) and a lot of what we are learning in there we are also learning in here. We are taking an exam tomorrow about morphemes, phonemes, syntax, semantics, and pragmatics and the structures that help us speak. This class is helping me study for this exam tomorrow, which is really neat. These language principles are the foundation of communication and are things I will have to become very familiar with if I am to succeed as a speech language pathologist. In CDS 275 we are also learning about speech production. We are learning about how the systems in the body and the structure of parts in the body help us to talk and communicate. We also learned in class about phonation, respiration, resonation, and articulation and the body parts that make those processes happen. I also have taken anatomy and that has been helping with knowing the functions of parts that some people don't know much about like the larynx and the pharynx. I love how my classes are building on each other and reinforcing what I have learned. I am excited to see what else coincides with my CDS 275 class and I am excited for the extra practice which will help me do well in class.
