Preschool

John here! As I said in my last post I am an IECE major which means I will be doing a few things with my degree. First of all I could do intervention work with babies up to three years.  Secondly, I  could be a Preschool teacher.

It is pretty unusual for males to go into the field that I am going into.  No kidding, there are two guys at EKU with my major and one of them is me.  That being said I couldn't think of anything else I would rather do.

I do love working with little kids but the Interdisciplinary part of my  major is the real reason i'm going into my field.  My little brother was diagnosed with Aspergers at a young age and it has motivated me to work with kids like him ever since.  I have a real passion for kids like my brother.  I also have a little sister who is "normal" for lack of a better word. Helping raise those two kids showed me that even though one was "different" they were both kids who needed the same amount of love and attention.  I started to realize that it isn't about what they can't do, but instead it's about what they can do.  I hope to be the teacher that inspires little ones to show the world that with love for one another we can all live together as equals and I believe that it all starts in the early years.  Thats why Im going to teach preschool...to make a difference in at least one child's life.
